On July 20 Samsung announced their brand new Galaxy Tab S2, claiming it to be the “thinnest and lightest tablet of its size ever”.

While portability has been a priority in mobile devices since the times of two-hand Wall Street cell phones, an impressively small weigh-in isn’t all that the Tab S2 offers:

  1. Measurements

Customers will have the choice of two sizes of the lightest tablet yet; the bigger at 9.7 inches and 389 grams, the smaller at 8 inches and 265 grams. This marks a considerable weight loss compared to the next competitor, Apple’s iPad Air 2, which comes in at a plump 439 grams.

  1. Hardware

The Tab S2 will feature a fingerprint scanner, 8 megapixel rear-facing camera, 2.1 megapixel front-facing camera, Microsoft Office, an improved processor, and all while maintaining the beautiful Super AMOLED display from the original Tab.

  1. Connectivity

Customers will have the choice of just Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi and LTE for all mobile connection needs. For storage, the options boast either 32GB or 64GB, with the option of MicroSD for expansion up to 128G total.

  1. Processing Power

All sizes of the Tab S2 will run Android’s Lollipop 5.0 with an octa-core processor, with four processors running at 1.9 GHz and the remaining at 1.3 GHz, with 3GB of RAM as well.

The spry and capable Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will be available globally in August 2015. To stay up to date on tech news (both big and small), be sure to contact {phone} or email: {email} for more news.
